How to Customize Cronometer for a Cancer Fighting Ketogenic Diet

Cronometer

Cronometer is a free online tool (there is also an app for $2.99) that is essential in tracking your dietary intake. It is quite versatile and this is my guide to customizing it for a cancer fighting ketogenic diet.

  1. First sign up.
  2. Go into your settings ->Profile + Targets and set your weight, height, birthday and activity level.

You may want a weight goal as maintain, gain or lose depending on your needs.

3.  The box titled “Macronutrient Targets” should be adjusted as follows:

Select “Keto Calculator”

Under the Keto Program select “Custom”

Protein should be 0.8 grams per kilogram (unless specified by your doctor- I will go up to 1.2g/kg if there is a clear need). Calculate this by multiplying your weight in kilograms by 0.8

Turn off the athletic bonus

Put in 20g of carbs

In the Tracking Carbohydrates: Check exclude only on Fiber

4.  Finished!

You may now enter foods as you eat them in your food diary.

It is best at first to log foods before you eat them.
